The lack of time has been called the plague of the modern lifestyle by many great thinkers of the 20th century. And, though we try to extend the time available to us in a single day by building faster cars and quicker computers, all we need to do to really let go of all notions of time and relax, is to go to the nearest Japanese tea parlor and have their prettiest hostess perform the delicate tea-making ritual in the most elegant manner.
Of course that would set you back a few good bucks and you might just get fired for taking forever to have a cup of tea, but the Japanese really do make a very good point in their ritualistic and mesmeric tea ceremonies. The Dwell Teapot concept by San Franciscan designer Christopher Centers, well, dwells on the sound wisdom behind the painstakingly long tea-making rituals, and tries to integrate it into a handy yet totally fascinating teapot, that will help users unwind while enjoying their afternoon cup of Earl Grey.
The unusual teapot is designed to allow a user to relax while the mesmeric teapot becomes the center of focus in the tea-making process. Stood upright, the Dwell Teapot is a piece of art and a centerpiece for the room. When in use, the mere process of watching the steeping basket travel through water, and seeing the tea infuse in swirls of pure visual and aromatic bliss with the steaming liquid relaxes users promoting a sense of harmony and inner balance in them.
By not being a quick-fix, one-stop push-button teapot, the Dwell concept allows users to enjoy the process of tea-making visually and aesthetically.
