A common problem in places that experience high natural humidity is that towels and other bath cloths don’t get dried as quickly as they do in places with clearer weather. Be it a place like England which experiences intermittent rainfall throughout the year, or places in the South East Asia which are hot for a batter part of the year. This concept looks to remedy a rather pesky problem that is faced on a daily basis by people who live in these places or in high-rise apartment buildings that are short on natural sunlight. The Daisy Infrared Towel Cleanser Rack Concept by designer Wei Liang Lin is a one-stop solution for drying wet towels, and disinfecting them in the process.
Developed as a freelance project for the hygiene line of OSIM International, a company which specializes in wellness products, the concept comprises of a single rectangular rack that is fitted with built-in infrared lamps. To dry and disinfect towels, the user simply has to hang the used, moist towel on the rack and input a time on the infrared lamp’s timer. If the towel is taken off the rack before the timer goes off, the timer will shut the lamp down automatically. If the towel is placed back on the rack and there is still some time remaining on the timer, it will automatically switch itself on, and begin drying the towel on its own. The devices automatically get switched off after the set time has elapsed.
The hollow space on the inside of the rack allows the towel to get enough natural ventilation while it is drying, and prevents both the gizmo as well as the towel from getting over-heated. The easy-to-use product also comes fitted with infrared heat emitting rods that will not cause burns and injury to people even if they come in contact with them which makes it an ideal way to dry baby clothes as well as other small items of clothing indoors.
