Infomercials for bio-magnetic jewelry are a dime a dozen with a new range of health boosting jewelry that uses “ancient oriental wisdom” popping up by the hour. Though a lot of these are quick cash making schemes that use fake precious stones and don’t really have any real scientific technology incorporated in them, the field of bio-magnetic therapy itself remains one of the most hotly investigated areas in terms of alternative medicine. The Blue Field Jewelry Line for the year 2035 by designer Geoff Wright investigates how the controversial therapy can be incorporated within items of daily use such as jewelry and other fashion accessories to ensure that the user gets optimized health benefits from it.
The jewelry line basically consists of two pieces, one of which is a manufactured piece and the other is customized piece. Inspired with a vision of what life in the year 2035 would be like, the jewelry line comes fitted with bio-magnetic technology that can stimulate blood flow and optimize the benefits of exercises and other alternative therapies. Bluefield separates blood cells ensuring that the blood can release and absorb more oxygen because of the increase in surface area to volume ratio. By naturally boosting the body’s oxygen absorption capacity, the jewelry helps users maximize the natural capabilities of tissues and organs without the aid of any chemicals.
Currently, deep breathing yoga exercises are the best source of boosting oxygen absorption within the body without resorting to chemical or medicinal aids. But just like any other form of exercise, deep breathing yoga also requires people to set aside some time to devote to it and often requires one to be in a peaceful location with fresh air. It means that anyone stuck in an office or busy with work at home would not be able to perform these exercises without compromising on the extent of its benefits. The Bluefield Bio-Magnetic Jewelry looks to provide with the same health benefits as deep breathing yoga on the go.
Constructed entirely in silicon, the jewelry easily wraps around the user’s shoulder and a skin friendly adhesive helps it stay in place through the course of the day. The magnets are placed in the mold at strategic locations, so that when the user wears the piece on their body the magnets sit over the arteries which are close to the skin neat the shoulder. Once worn, the Bluefield stimulates blood cells flowing through the arteries so that they absorb and release oxygen more efficiently and stimulate blood flow through the user’s entire body.
