Radios have existed for long and have entertained us day and night. But normally radios are operated by battery, and, in modern times, come wedged in our mobile phones. But what Nicholas Couch has done with the humble radio is quite amazing and environment-friendly of course.
Named George FM Radio, Couch has crafted a promotional radio for George FM that too from 97 percent sustainable materials. Continuous power is generated to keep the radio talking by the ‘enviro-battery’. This battery makes use of soil minerals, copper and zinc plates and water. The plants when watered will create power. The radio comes in a classic black and white color and has buttons that come in an ergonomic size. The color blends perfectly with the natural grass of the plant and is a visual treat. It looks straight out of the 50’s era. The unique radio, specially designed for George FM listeners, can be positioned anywhere. Place it in a kitchen or the balcony, a bench or window side, a room or an office, the radio will look aesthetically appealing everywhere.
