San Diego Convention Center Sets Stage for Hosting Leadership Event
The web hosting and hosted services industry continues to grow at a rapid rate. According to Tier1 Research (“T1R”), the leading analyst firm covering the Internet Infrastructure and web hosting markets, estimates that 2011 Internet Infrastructure revenue will reach $43.38 billion, which represents 18.3% growth over the 2010 total of $36.67 billion and expects the market for Internet Infrastructure to continue to grow at 18% annually through 2012.” This fast growth is driven in part through technology advancement from cloud computing, Software as a Service, Smart phones, and streaming video.
Further, The 451 Group, parent company of Tier 1 Research, expects a continuation of strong M&A activity in the hosting and managed services industries in 2011 at a microeconomic level driven by consolidation and rollup to achieve scale, amass customer bases and add complementary infrastructure and service lines in order to create and expand new service offerings.”
The strong industry growth is creating more and more opportunities for web hosts to compete and thrive in a changing marketplace. It also opens new doors with Independent software vendors (ISVs) and SaaS providers to uncover new business models within the hosting industry. ISVs and SaaS providers are looking for guidance from hosting companies; while hosting providers are positioned to provide assistance for network architecture, network and application layer security, monitoring and metering, billing and much more.
On August 8-10 at the San Diego Convention Center, HostingCon 2011 will host more than 1,800 web hosts, SaaS, ISVs and cloud providers to learn, network and grow.
