When the laptop first made its appearance a decade ago, people thought they would never have to go back to the desktop PC. And while a huge percentage of the personal computing sector is still dominated by the laptop, a lot of users still prefer working on the on-desk version. Since buying a separate computer system to work with when you want to sit at a table for longer durations and maintaining a laptop for off-desk usage, a clever little device like this Desktop Chair acts as just the handy quick fix that simplifies users’ lives.
The handcrafted dock is made using fine natural basswood and allows users to use their Apple laptops in what the company calls Closed Clamshell Mode in which users can plug their laptops into an external monitor and use their laptops indirectly. The ergonomic design of the Desktop chair allows users to dock their laptops into the cushioned frame, plug the laptop into an external monitor and connect it to a mouse or a track pad and a keyboard to use as a desktop. The Chair enables users to work comfortably without straining their eyes, neck and back and allows them to maintain a better posture as well.
The versatile Desktop Chair is compatible with all Apple laptops that measure 30mm in height with or without a cover and works with all PowerBook G4, MacBook Air, MacBook and MacBook Pro models. Although the product was designed especially for Apple laptops, it works great with most tablet PCs as well and serves as a stable and ergonomic dock when you want to use your tablets in desktop mode.
