People go through a lot of trouble when disaster strikes. Natural calamities (like earthquakes, floods, etc.) leave many homeless with no other option, but to go and live in temporary relief units which snatch away all the privacy. A Canadian furniture designer named Molo has come up with brilliant partitions that will inject much needed privacy and individuality in a victim’s life. Christened the Softshelter System, it will lend comfort even during a state of crisis.
These pleated paper partitions measure 6 feet in height and are easy to assemble. They don’t require any extra tools and take just 5 minutes to put up. It provides enough room for a family of four and can be carried anywhere. The temporary partition helps create personal space in a large area. Basic things like a lamp, magnets, binder clips and a towel rod have been embedded in to the unit. But, the emergency quarter comes dipped in a few flaws as well. The biggest drawback is the use of craft paper that cannot hold up a lot of elements. Another hitch is the price tag it comes slashed with. A single unit will cost $1,000, which may force many to drop the idea of buying one.
Apart from this, snapping apart the makeshift option is as effortless as its construction. Dust from the honeycomb structure is ejected when the unit is collapsed hence it ranks easy on the maintenance scale. Softshelter System is a handy product, which will prove to be quite helpful when emergency strikes.
