I've been reading a bit about evolution lately and I keep seeing parallels to business.
I started thinking about how the promotional strategy for a creative business evolves. How is the marketing for a new business different from that of a mature one? What do you have to do at the beginning that you can let go of in later stages, building on the foundation you've set?
I wrote an article for the next Self Promotion Issue of HOW Magazine in an attempt to explore some of these questions. (If you're a subscriber, you'll see it in your mailbox soon.)
Now I've turned the article into a "DesignCast" -- Evolution of a Creative Business -- which I'll present next Thursday, August 18 at 4 PM Eastern. (As with all webcasts, you don't have to be there live to listen. It will be available to watch at your leisure after the fact.)
This DesignCast will feature case studies of 3 creative businesses at crucial stages of evolution: just starting out, growth mode and maturity, plus a lot of the material -- the out-takes -- that didn't make it into the article.
