10 retractable fence designs for your backyard garden

A fence is a practical and decorative solution especially when you are looking to decorate your backyard or merely trying to keep your pets off the neighbor’s backyard. But, with the availability of innumerable fence patent designs with variable pricing, one can be spoiled for choice. One sensible option could be retractable fences for the backyard.

Let us take a look at some of them which are either available widely at garden centers or through online merchandising sites. The more common retractable fences preferred are the ones that look like a roller blind, essentially made of metal meshwork and available in different widths. The pricing could be anything between $45 and $95 per set and could even go higher depending on quality and individual quotations set by manufacturers. Guarden retractable fence:

It is an everyday garden multipurpose fence. It serves as a barrier against animals and and blends well with the green scene. The fences are made from corrosion-resistant aluminum tubing, recycled polypropylene, and rubber. The Guarden fence is the innovation of Louis Filosa and available in dimensions of 40? (height) x 10? (diameter). Assembling this fence is easy. The base of the fence is planted in one corner besides planting poles on each of the corners. This can be held in place with embedded stakes. Upon returning to the base, the final pole with the embedded spring loaded button is locked. This acts as a point of exit and entry to the vegetable patches in the backyard. The top semi circular part serves as the handle for easy movement to and from the shed. Because the tube frame enables metal stakes to stay inside, there is less chance for misplacing these stakes. These are also easier to push into the ground using the foot. This model is a sustainable option to keep off unwanted scope of intrusions in your backyard.

Wooden garden retractable fencing:

These type of fencing is commonly available in (L)120 x (H)109.5 cm dimensions for $25.98 to $ 37.11 (per piece) prices range, depending on the manufacturers. It is a basic model and best serves as a garden gate or for supporting trellis. The designs are easy to assemble and are eco friendly with a rural amorous feel to these gates.

Expanding Barrier:

These gates are expandable and mostly have the basic dimensions of 400 x 95 x 3 cm. When folded, the dimensions are 45 x 95 x 3 cm. Sometimes, it is possible to integrate wheels at the bottom of the frames. Bolts could be added on to the flanks. These are UV resistant and are powder coated or plastic shielded.

Metal Fence:

It is made of cast iron and does not bear any additional coating on the frames. It is built of mild steel wire of 3 to 5 mm diameter. Specifications can be made bespoke as per customer requirements. These are easily assembled, eco friendly and can withstand heat and pressure.

Welded Garden Fence:

This is a basic rolled up light weight model ideal for trellis and serves as a barrier gate. Easy to work with, this welded fence is perfect for enclosing gardens. The mesh has variable spacing in the design that can keep the tiniest animal at bay. It is ideal for gardens that plant tomatoes; the fruit can be plucked through the larger gaps in the upper mesh. These are available as 35″ x 50′ wired rolls.

Retractable Fence with a Line Dispenser:

The line dispenser for this retractable fence has a hold for a spool of line. This hold in turn has a hole to communicate the line outside the hold itself. It has a crank for rotating the spool and helps to bring the line into the hold through the hole. This model provides a tangle free line that can be reeled into and pulled out of the hold. The line extends through the tube in such a manner that the tube exerts a tension on the line, while the line is reeled in and pulled out of the hold.

Retractable Tennis Fencing or chain link fence system:

These are durable and easy to install. The steel components are made up of galvanized chain links and coated with hot dip zinc for greater durability. Ties are used to attach the chain-link fabric to the main framework between each of the terminal posts, which are made of aluminum. Other metals used to construct such frameworks are made up of either pressed steel or cast iron. Each frame is then linked the chain link fabric can be installed up to 10 ft in height. The framework consists of top and middle rail; the bottom rail is optional and is sold as an upgrade.

Low-carbon steel wire retractable fencing:

Low-carbon steel wire fences are usually anti-corrosive, resistant to chemical reactions and are durable. Most of these have ISO 9001 International Quality Management System Certificate.

Modern retractable fence gate:

These are good as community gates or barriers for a larger populace. Made of aluminum alloy, the gate could be remote controlled from a good 30m distance. These are available as gilding tracks; single track or double tracks. Multi protection security devices could be designed on to these gates to prevent accidents. LED display systems could be mounted on these.

Outdoor Garden Wood Retractable Fence:

This model is generally available as W120 x H20cm outdoor garden retractable fencing or as a DIY flower pot. At $8.04 per piece, this wooden fence blends with the green backyard. This is one of the most eco friendly, readily assembled models. The wood is generally composed of Chinese Fir and best suited for gardens, outdoor yard, leisure farm and as barrier within a community, family or surrounding villas.
