The rich aroma of a hot brewing cup of tea fills the nostrils and soothes your nerves leaving you energetic and fresh. And many of us not only enjoy gulping down this age old beverage but also the process of making it. For such people, tea kettles are the perfect means to relish the conventional brew in style. Keeping in mind the highly mobile and hectic life of today, here are some portable and uniquely designed tea kettles to let you unwind over a steaming cuppa at any place and time.
1. Dusi Tea Kettle
Functioning both as a tea kettle and a teapot, Dusi Tea Kettle scores high in portability, design and intelligence. All you need to do is place the Dusi Tea Kettle on the cook-top, boil the water and insert the tea infuser. Juliet Symes has designed the tea infuser in such a way that it can be detached from the tea kettle once the tea is brewed. So, once your tea is brewed, remove the infuser to use the kettle as a tea pot to serve yourself a hot cuppa.That’s it making tea was never so easy.
2. Cigno Teapot by Adam Hammerman
If you thought tea pots can not have any other shape than the usual round ones, then the Cigno Teapot would surprise you with its beauty. Shaped in the form of a swan the Cigno Teapot speaks of elegance and beauty and from a distance it’s hard to even make out that it’s a tea pot. A perfect tea time companion for the design conscious.
3. ROTO electric kettle
Jason Astrup’s ROTO electric kettle is a cutely designed tea kettle, which can be used even by the children without any inconvenience. This round shaped kettle resting on a stand does away with the need of lifting the kettle for pouring out hot liquids. For pouring out tea or any other hot liquid you just need to tilt the kettle holding its rubber handling without lifting it physically. The stand contains the electric cord socket and the power button making it safe for use by all age groups.
4. The Lazy Teapot by Lotte Alpert
Tea making couldn’t get much easier than this. Designed by Lotte Alpert the Lazy Teapot is another teapot that you don’t have to lift it to pour the hot liquid in to your cup. That’s not all, the tea pot can also keep the liquid warm so you can enjoy it even if you get caught in some work. The elegantly designed tea pot is ideal for elderly, disabled and busy bees.
5. Sorapot Unique Modern Teapot
Sorapot is a brilliantly designed tea pot for those who not only enjoy the hot liquid but also enjoy the process of tea making and the unfurling of the color of the tea leaves. Through the glass tube you can see your tea getting ready and enjoy the whole process, from the making of tea to the drinking. Joey Roth has put her soul into designing Sorapot, bringing out the beauty of the otherwise mundane process.
6. SPIN
Based on the principle of center of gravity, SPIN is a functional and elegant looking spherical tea kettle. If you top on the chart of being the laziest, then this is just ideal kettle for your cuppa as you wouldn’t even have to pour the hot liquid in to your cup. For pouring out the liquid, you just need to slide a switch and the spout would tip on its own to pour out the contents. This innovative design by Martin M. Giroud Ituzaingo also won him the World Kitchen Tea-off, The Tea Kettle Design Competition.
7. Turtle Tea Kettle
It is a delightfully beautiful concept tea kettle designed by Andrew Zheng. It is an excellent tea kettle for tea lovers who enjoy their hot cuppa in all forms be it loose-leaf, teabag or compressed-tea. Another additional quality of the kettle is its separate glass container, which is used as a tea infuser, so you can have a debris free drink.
8. Hot Streak Kettle
A traditional yet modern tea kettle, Hot Streak Kettle, designed by Gareth Battensby, uses ceramic in an innovative manner. The tea kettle heats up quickly and evenly, thanks to its honeycomb ceramic structure. Along with that a system of three movable elements in the kettle makes it easier for you to adjust the amount of water, thus saving some more energy.
9. Tea Orbs
Who could have thought that tea kettles can also come in the form of baoding balls? Daniel Bailey devised a very clever tea kettle that looks like baoding balls and works in a very different way. Using induction to heat the other ball filled with water, the Tea Orb gives you perfectly delicious cup of tea. If that’s not enough to de-stress you can also roll the balls in your hands to de-stress yourself.
10. Creativi*tea
Designed by Sarina Fiero, Creativi*tea is a uniquely innovative and elegant tea kettle that would never fail to refresh you. Made of stainless steel body and ceramic base, the kettle changes color from a darker shade of red to the brighter shade with the change in temperature, due to the built-in thermo-chromatic technology. The use of this technology lets the kettle boil water to a precise temperature for a perfect taste.
